Jane Austen is a legendary English writer with one of her works, Pride and Prejudice. The woman who was born on December 14, 1775 in Hampshire, England, has a hobby of reading because she has been used to it since childhood and is required to read a lot by her father and develop her thinking since childhood. Her father is the chancellor at Oxford University which makes it easy for Jane to access the university library. It’s no wonder then that Jane Austen’s experience of reading books has influenced her incredible work to this day. She is the second daughter and seventh child in her family. Writing was a very serious thing for Jane Austen. He started writing when he was 12 years old. Jane began writing historical parodies in England as a teenager, and started romance stories at the age of 16. Jane Austen often combines romance and realism and shares the stories she writes with her family. The life and association of the people at that time often became his inspiration. The existence of social class, mothers who like to gossip, rich men who are arrogant, to demands for young women to get married immediately, are raised in the story. This novel itself carries a realism writing style with the theme of British social life in the late 18th to early 19th centuries. Not infrequently in his novels there are also criticisms, interpretations and comments against the English nobility at the end of the 18th century. Jane Austen died aged 41, on July 18, 1817, leaving the Subtle Persuasion and her Gothic satire Northanger Abbey for publication later that year.
He has written many novels, and some of them were adapted to the big screen. His book that has been made to the big screen is Pride and Prejudice. The book Pride and Prejudice itself tells about the love story of an upper-middle class English family in the late 19th century. This book was later made into a film that was released at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2005. This film, made by Joe Wright, stars Hollywood’s top actors such as Keira Knightley, Rosemund Pike, Matthew Macfadyen, Donald Sutherland, Tom Hollander, and many more.
